Brunton Theatre
has a strong education policy and works in close collaboration with
East Lothian Council’s Arts Team to deliver a wide ranging
programme of activities.
Every season we provide a series of fun and stimulating workshops in dance drama
and music, which are linked to professional performances taking place on stage
at the Theatre.
This is a great opportunity for young people to develop skills and ideas under
the guidance of professional actors, dancers and musicians.
These projects can offer a new perspective to support curriculum subjects as
well as extending participants experiences beyond their imaginations.
Many of our arts and cultural projects are planned and delivered in association
with East Lothian Council’s Arts Team. This enables us to integrate resources
and expertise and provide schools with a range of projects and activities that
support key curricular areas.
Recent projects include Our Days Of Light (pictured), a celebration of religious
diversity, Good Vibes, a dance and music project exploring the science of sound
and I’m
Tellin on U, a Theatre in Education project focusing on conflict resolution developed
with and for primary school children. This project was in partnership with ABEL
(Anti Bullying East Lothian) and received funding from Lothian NHS Board Social
Inclusion and Community Care.
